The Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft at the premises of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, which resulted in multiple casualties.
On behalf of the RUET community, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak conveyed heartfelt condolences to the victims' families. As part of the national mourning program, RUET lowered the national flag to half-mast on Tuesday (22 July) and organized a special prayer session at the Central Jame Mosque. Prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for the swift recovery of the injured.
In a message of condolence, the Vice-Chancellor said, “This unexpected accident has caused irreparable loss, including the tragic deaths and injuries of a pilot as well as students, guardians, and staff members of Milestone School and College. The entire nation is deeply saddened by this heartbreaking event. On behalf of the RUET family, I pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and extend my deepest sympathies to the bereaved families. We also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
Extending his solidarity, the Vice-Chancellor added, “In this time of sorrow, the RUET family stands in support of Milestone School and everyone affected. May the Almighty prevent such tragic incidents in the future and grant the grieving families the strength and patience to endure this profound loss.”
